Being a survival sandbox game, Minecraft doesn’t impose upon the player a storyline to be followed. It allows the players to weave their own stories in this seemingly endless world. Every player creates their own story and plays it. But for this who would like to explore the lore of Minecraft, there is a loosely fitted storyline that you can follow.
And this story involves boss fights, 2 boss fights to be exact, and three if you consider the Warden to be a boss/mini-boss. One of these bosses, the Wither, is a three-headache monstrosity that can destroy your entire base but can reward you immensely once you slay it.
On dying, it drops a Nether Star, an essential item in crafting a Beacon. So in this blog post, we will show you how to Summon the Wither and kill him before he kills you!
Acquire items required to summon the Wither
The Wither needs to be summoned by creating a statue of sorts using different items you get in the Nether.
Soul Sand
Head to the nether dimension, and search for soul sand. It shouldn’t be very hard as this block is abundant in the Nether. Gather 4 blocks, to be exact, and be on your way to find the following items.
Wither Skeleton Skulls
The Wither Skeletons are variants of the overworld Skeletons that you can find in the Nether, most prominently on the Nether Fortress. We want their skulls to create the Wither Statue, gather three to be exact.
Once you’ve collected three skulls, come back to the overworld.
Summoning the Wither
Now that you have all the necessary items to summon this beast, just place them in the manner shown above. But wait, don’t summon him just yet; we are here to offer you the best strategy to kill this beast, so move on to the next step.
Best Strategy to kill the Wither
The Wither has two stages; in the first stage, it is flying around shooting projectiles that can do a lot of damage; in the second stage, it comes back to the ground, and become invulnerable to attacks from ranged weapons, so you have to fight him head-on.
As the wither destroys blocks, you should not fight him anywhere around your base, not even a hundred blocks away from your base.
The most brilliant way to kill this beast is by going underground.
Find a cave big enough to fit the wither statute, and from that cave. Start strip mining. Create a long tunnel at least 200-300 blocks long, or even more if you are rocking only iron armor.
