Minecraft Live 2022 is just around the corner, so in a few weeks, the developers at Mojang will unveil what they’ve been working on there for the last few months. They will announce the new Minecraft 1.20 update! This is a big deal, as we’re entering a new decade of Minecraft, and the version number is also entering a new phase.
We’re expecting something big this year, a new dimension, revamping the end, or a slew of new biomes. Who knows what’s coming, but we know some features that are definitely coming to Minecraft sometime in the future, and some of them might show up in 1.20. Let’s take a look at which features these might be!
5. Revamped Savanna!
The Savanna biome was a party of a biome vote a few years ago. Unfortunately, it lost. But if the Mojang developers are to be believed. In that case, every biome in the vote will eventually be added to the game. So far, 3 have been added, the swamp being the latest addition to the game. The Savanna might be next in line.
As it features some wild concepts like the Baobab Tree, termites, and Ostriches! Sadly, we won’t be able to ride the Ostrichesas Mojang believes this causes harm to the Ostrich. No, it doesn’t cause damage to them; it’s a fictional creature. We can ride pigs; how is this even a thing?
4. Vultures
Vultures are already announced and will be added sometime in the future; when? Is anyone’s guess?
These Vultures will likely be und in the desert exclusively. And will roam the skies when players wander too deep into the desert. They won’t attack but will follow you. And when you die, they will come and steal your items. Now that’s just scary.
3. Seasons
Yes, we might be gettings seasons in Minecraft, which is insane if you think about it. In the last year of Minecraft Live, Lady Agnes showed concept art of birch forest which wasn’t added to the game, sadly. Still, the concept of Birch Forest was indeed something.
First, it might hint towards season in Minecraft as it was lush and filled with sunlight, and we saw mushrooms growing up in the trees. How this will be implemented is for the developers to figure out; we just play!
2. Backpack
We were hoping to get a bag in the recent Minecraft update. A bag will be used as an inventory management system in the early game. But that idea was scrapped. But the backpack is much more feasible as it will be available early game (if crafted using leather) and will solve inventory problems MInecatft has!
1. Jellyfish
Jellyfish is a feature that has been under review for years; maybe this year, we just might get the feature into the game. It’s not surprising to see a jellyfish in the game; it should’ve been added in the aquatic update itself. But you know what they say, better late than never.
