The Minecraft Nether got a major revamp in the form of the Nether Update a few years ago, but it wasn’t enough. The update added some more biomes to the game, and you can now survive in the Nether. However, it still has a pretty lousy world generation compared to the new Minecraft overworld.
And frankly, the biomes and mobs are just not that many to keep you interested. Once you see the 4-5 Mobs, the Nether has, there is no incentive to go back and explore, and we want to change that. So here are the Top 5 Minecraft Nether Mods!
5. Amplified Nether
If the Nether isn’t challenging enough for you, try the Amplified Nether Mod. As the name suggests, it amplifies the world generation in the nether so that you get some genuinely frightening landscapes.
Not only that, navigating the Nether becomes much more complicated and fun. Now, you have to watch your every step before you die. And this is how the Nether should be; after all, it is supposed to be the Hell of Minecraft.
4. Creeping Nether
The Sculk Blocks are something that every player finds attractive, not just because of their unique sound-related properties but because of their expansion. Sculk is unlike anything in Minecraft as it grows, infesting every block in its path.
Players have had a similar idea about the Nether for a while. When the ruined portals were added to the overworld, they came true to a certain degree. Nether blocks were leaking into the overworld. In the new Minecraft Legends game, we see the Nether dimension taking over.
Creeping Nether is a mod that makes this a reality; when you open a portal, the nether starts creeping and slowly but surely consumes a vast portion of your world!
3. Better Nether
Better Nether does make the Nether a better place, and don’t worry; it doesn’t make your life easier; it adds more hostile elements to the game than passive ones.
It adds lore to the game by adding new mobs, blocks, and even biomes! The nether just becomes better to explore with this mod installed.
2. Nether EX
Similar to Better Nether, Nether EX also adds a lot of new things to the game in the form of new blocks, mobs, and biomes. The most distinctive feature of the mod is wights, which are hostile mobs that are scary and can freeze up to 15 seconds when they hit you!
1. Immersive Portals
Portals are supposed to be a gateway between two worlds, not a purple screen that leaves you in random places.
Immersive portals make the transition between worlds seamless. Frankly, I don’t understand why hasn’t Minecraft implemented this in their game already. It is faster and looks fantastic, to say the least.
