The Minecraft Nether Update changed the game by adding a new ore. Not just any ore that was added for cosmetic purposes, but an ore that was better than Diamond! Netherite dethroned Diamond and become the best ore in the game after decades of Minecraft’s release.
Netherite is by the strongest ore in the game. The weapons and armor crafted with Netherite don’t burn when in the fire. So you can throw them away in Lava and they won’t burn.
The only downside about Netherite is that it’s ridiculously rare; you’ll have difficulty finding it as it generates in the Nether exclusively, which is filled with random lava pits. So to make the task of finding this ore easier for you, we bring this step-by-step guide, in which we’ll show you how to get the ore, how to smelt it, and how to use it to craft weapons and armor in the easiest way possible!
Step #1: Acquire Ancient Debris
Netherite doesn’t appear like other ores in the game. It is found as Ancient Debris in the Nether. So to get Netherite, you’ll have to find these Ancient Debris first.
The best way to find debris right now is by using beds, a lot of beds! As you may know, sleeping in the Nether will cause the bed to expose.
Using this explosion to your advantage, start tunneling in the nether on level 12 using these beds. You can use a Pickaxe to do the same, and strip mine in the Nether, but using beds, the job becomes easier as you have to mine fewer blocks, and it’s just more fun.
Soon, you’ll have a few debris in your inventory. Also, don’t worry about accidentally blowing up the debris by explosions, as it is blast resistant.
You can also use TNT, but beds are recommended as they are cheaper and less tedious to craft.
Step #2: Acquiring Netherite Scrap
Once you’ve acquired the Ancient Debris successfully, you’ll need to smelt it in a furnace to get Netherte Scraps. These scraps are used in conjunction with gold to craft the actual Netherite Ingots.
Step #3: Crafting Netherite Ingots
Get your Ancient Scraps and some gold ingots acquired by smelting Gold ore in a furnace. Get the Scraps and the ingots together, and following the recipe above, craft yourself a Nethrite ingot!
And that’s basically how you acquire Netherite in Minecraft.
How to use Netherite Ingots?
To craft anything using Nethrite, you won’t need a lot of Nethrite ingots. You’ll need only one!
Using the Smithing table, insert on the left the Diamond weapon/armor you want to upgrade Netherite. Using the Netherite Ingot, create a new Netherite weapon/armor!
So technically, Diamond is still the king of ores; it just got a new enhancement in the form of Netherite!
