Minecraft is a weird blend of mechanical and magical worlds; on the one hand, we have Redstone and pistons, allowing us to make complex machinery; on the other hand, we have stuff like enchanting, and making potions is magical, to say the least. The Redstone machinery is useful but not necessary when you want to complete the game.
But brewing and enchanting are essential as they increase the player’s ability to fight and traverse the terrain. Brewing, for example, allows you to do a wide array of things like breathing underwater, seeing in the dark, and regenerating your health, just to name a few.
Unfortunately, not many players look into this aspect of the game. Hence we decided to guide some of the newbies in this space on how to make potions. So let’s get right into it!
Items needed and where to find them.
Before we start brewing, we need some essential items necessary for brewing. Below is a list of all the required time you’ll need, along with a brief paragraph on how to find them most efficiently.
Brewing Stand
The brewing stand is the workstation whose job is to brew potions. It can be kept on any block, including crafting tables and brewing three potions at a time. To craft a Brewing Stand, you’ll need:
- 1 Blaze Rod
- 3 Stone
Step #1: Get Blaze Rods
You can acquire Blaze Rods by simply killing Blaze in the nether.
Step #2: Getting Stone
Any stone-tier block will do.
Step #3: Craft Brewing Stand
Craft the Brewing Stand according to the above-given recipe
Glass Bottles
You’ll be neeidng glass bottles to store the potion; the recipe is quite simple; just use the glass blocks according to the image above.
Cauldron
The cauldron will be vital as it will act as a water source; you’ll need a lot of water; you can use a cauldron for this or simply dig a hole in the ground to store some water.
Blaze Powder
Blaze Powder is required to power every Brewing Stand; it is created using Blaze Rods, which you should have if you have already crafted a brewing stand.
Brewing
Brewing is easy; I don’t understand why people find it hard.
Once you have all the items for brewing, set up a nice area where you’ll be brewing your positions, and then get some glass bottles. Fill these bottles with water for the cauldron or any other water source, and place it in the bottom section of the brewing stand. Put one of the three items in the top slot, Redstone dust, Glowstone dust, or nether wart.
You’ll create a potion when you do so, but these have no effects; they are made simple to act as a base for the potions we will be brewing.
In the next section, we show you how to brew some of the most essential potions in the game, equipping you with the knowledge to brew any potion in the future.
