Every Minecraft fan was shocked to see Mojang announce a brand new game a few months ago in the form of Minecraft Legends! The game is supposed to be an Action Strategy game and has been blowing up in the gaming community for some time now. This is Mojang’s yet another attempt at capitalizing on the fame that Minecraft has garnered over the years.

We already got an action strategy game of sorts in the form of Minecraft Dungeons, and the hype surrounding the game has fallen off drastically since its launch. Don’t get me wrong, many players still enjoy the game every day, but nothing will ever come close to the success of Minecraft.

Minecraft Legends Release Date

Minecraft Legends will be released in 2023. Unfortunately, we don’t know the precise dates yet because the game is still under development and will probably take at least a year to finish. If recent releases are any indicator, then the game might release in November, right around the Holiday season!

Minecraft Legends Storyline

The Minecraft Legends trailer showed off a lot of in-game footage and animated shots. If the trailer is to be believed, then here is how the story will unfold.

The story takes space way before the Minecraft we all love today. So it is a prequel. A lot of mobs inhabit the Overworld. There are also hostile creatures up here, but overall, it is a charming place to be.

Then the Piglins show up from the Nether dimension. The Nether acts as a villain hideout in the overworld, an infestation that wants to take over the overworld. This can also be seen in the trailer, as multiple portals can be seen as an opening, and with the portals comes a dark red smog, taking over the overworld.

Judging by this, it is safe to assume that the story is about You, the player, VS the Piglins who want to take over the Overworld. And there are a couple of existing points that support this theory. The devs added ruined nether portals to the overworld in the latest updates.

Why would they do something like this? And not just that, the portals appear with nether around them in the form of Nether blocks and Gold. This is very weird because no nether blocks enter our world when we build portals.

These nether portals might be from when the piglins attacked the overworld and ran away, so the portal was destroyed or left to rot. This also explains why the Piglins are hostile towards us.

The people who lived in the Overworld before have destroyed their plans of taking over, so obviously, they are mad. 

So in Minecraft Legends, we might see this story play out, the overworld warriors defeating the Pigins invaders for good!

But take this story with a grain of salt; nothing’s confirmed yet, this is mere speculation, but it’s fun to think about the story. Are you excited about Minecraft Legends?
