The Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Update was the biggest Minecraft Update of all time. Not only did it change the world generation of the overworld in its entirety, but it also added new biomes, mobs, and ores. The Copper ore was a new addition to the game, and it was bizarre compared to the others.
With Coopper, Mojang made it very clear from the start that they didn’t want to add yet another tier of ore to the game, so Copper can’t be used in crafting tools and armor. However, Copper can be used for crafting many items you may want to look into. In this blog post, we will shed some light on the different use cases of Copper!
Lightning Rods
Lightning rods were an unusual addition to the game; no one in the community saw them coming and for a good reason. They solve a problem that a small minority of Minecraft players face: lightning burning down their houses. It is an unlikely event, but not an event that is impossible.
What these Rods do is very simple, once you place them on your house or any other place you want to secure from getting burnt down, the lighting that may strike the place will be diverted to the Lightning Rod. No damage will be done to the surrounding.
A Lightning Rod will also emit a Redstone signal on being hit, so you can use it for that.
SpyGlasses
As the name suggests, this item will allow you to spy on people, mobs, or even villages. You can craft a telescope using a few copper ingots and amethyst shards.
The spyglass will allow you to zoom in on anything you can see within your render distance. This spyglass can’t be used to see anything future than your render distance, which is odd because now unless you have a massive render distance, these glasses are useless.
But if you have reasonable render distance, then the spyglass is fun to play around with!
Copper And Cut Copper Blocks
The Copper Blocks and the Cut Copper Blocks have fantastic textures and colors; these blocks fit in Minecraft perfectly and add a new color palette to the game for the builder to explore. Many players have built awesome-looking Cyberpunk builds using these blocks.
The unique thing about copper blacks is that they oxidize over time, so a brown copper block will eventually turn turquoise if you ignore it. You can stop the oxidization process at any stage using Wax and undo the Wax using an axe.
Here are some ideas using the copper blocks we got in the Caves and Cliffs update!
