How to craft a Respawn Anchor in Minecraft

Respawn Anchor

What is a Respawn Anchor and why do you need it?

Dying and losing everything you were equipped with and the items in your inventory is probably the worst part of playing Minecraft. It is even more frustrating when your items are destroyed. It is a time-consuming task to go back to the spot of your death. But, do not worry as Respawn Anchor is here to rescue you.

A respawn anchor allows the player to rest the spawn point in nether instead of the overworld when you die. It will help you navigate and explore your journey in the nether.  A respawn anchor can be harvested with any pickaxe above or at a diamond tire.

It is easy to respawn in the underworld. You just need to click on a bed and that will set a respawn point if you die. But this does not work in either.

If you use a bed in the nether, it will explode and there is a chance that you might die in the blast. That’s when you need a respawn anchor.

These respawn anchors help you activate them and set the respawn point.

You must try the respawn anchor if you are someone who loves adventure and exploration, especially in dangerous areas.

But, before trying to craft a respawn, make sure you have a Minecraft version that supports it.

What are the materials required to obtain Respawn Anchor?

The materials required to craft a respawn are native to the nether but one can obtain them in the overworld too.

  • 3 Glow stones.

The glow stones can be obtained from trading with villagers or wandering traders. They can also be crafted from the glow stone dust dropped by the witches.

Glowstone
  • 6 Crying Obsidian.

The crying obsidians can be found in ruined portals and bastion remnants and ruined nether portals. It can be found in a chest at both of these locations. You can also receive crying obsidian while bartering with a piglin.

How to craft a Respawn anchor?

Step 1: Open the crafting menu

The first step is to open the crafting table. By doing this you will have a 3X3 crafting grid.

Step 2: Add items to the grid

To make a respawn anchor, you need to add 3 glow stones and 6 crying obsidians into the 3X3 grid that you opened earlier. It is important to note that you need to follow a certain pattern to get the respawn anchor. In the 3X3 grid, fill the first row with 3 crying obsidian. The second row with 3 glow stones and the last row with the remaining 3 crying obsidian.

Once you add them in the mentioned order, the respawn anchor will appear in a box to the right.

Step 3: Move the Respawn Anchor to inventory

After crafting the respawn anchor using the above recipes, you need to move this new item into the inventory to be able to use it.

Voila!  You just created a respawn anchor that is ready to use.

Conclusion

A Respawn Anchor can be very helpful for going deep into the abyss of the Nether. You can just set your spawn point near a Nether Fortress or a Bastion before going in to explore it. Indeed, it is a great addition to the game.
